21st Fuji Tea Girls Contest
The 21st Fuji Tea Girls Contest was held on March 23rd, and 13 women competed after passing the initial screening. The contestants’ etiquette and enthusiasm for the contest were evaluated, and they talked about their reasons for applying, their thoughts on Fuji tea, and the activities they wanted to be involved in. After careful consideration, seven Fuji Tea Girls were chosen, including Queen Marino Sugiki, and Tea Girls Nanami Kobayashi, Miyu Sasaki, Hitomi Shiozawa, Aimi Suzuki, Sara Suzuki, and Nao Mochizuki. The moment her name was announced, Ms. Sugiki put her hand to her mouth in an expression of surprise. “I never thought that I’d become a tea queen. I want to do my best to represent the Fuji Tea Girls.” The hall was filled with warm applause. The seven tea girls work to promote the enjoyment of tea, a specialty of Fuji City, for a period of two years. Their debut will take place at the local Sakura Festival held in April. It will be nice to keep a close eye on the individual activities of the seven tea girls.
